Liberty Denim To Be Demolished

As many of you know, there have been two Liberty Denim Mills in Liberty for decades. The smaller of the two, located on Ruhamah Road, is currently being demolished and now the other denim mill is on the chopping block. Having been a textile mill since 1901, the original Liberty Denim Mill closed down in December of 2011 for what was supposed to be a temporary halt. The mill never reopened and was purchased by Chip Coker of Greenville. According to News Channel 7, Coker will sell the mill for $250,000 but if it is not bought by next week it will be demolished.
